With some of the most eclectic boutique hotels around, you’ll have a fair share of options for your stay in Austin. Here is a list of some of our favorite places with a range of budgets in mind. Of course, there is also always good ol’ airbnb since you won’t be staying much anyways:
- South Congress Hotel
- Austin Motel
- Hotel Saint Cecilia
- Hotel San Jose
- The Driskill
Austin is a fun vacation destination for good reason: there's always something to do! Festivals, live music, outdoor activities, and nightlife provide for an action-packed girls weekend!
West 6th Street
Now that you are dolled up, you HAVE to get a bit crazy on 6th street. While East (or Dirty) Sixth is great for the college crowd and a must see, you want to head over to West 6th to get a more young professional vibe. Don’t worry there is still plenty of cheap drinks, good music and dancing to be had on West!
The East Side
Meander East of I-35 and you’ll find an ever growing list of bars and lounges that are perfect for the gang. Start at Whisler’s for a good, stiff cocktail and make your way to Craftsman for their everchanging theme nights and drink specials. End at the Volstead Club for some late night sweaty dancing!
Eat & Drink
Blink and you'll miss the list of new restaurants that open every week here! Or so it seems, with chef-owned brick and mortars popping up so frequently. We've put together a list of hot spots from happy hours to brunch.
TNT (Tacos and Tequila) for Brunch - Complete with a DJ, bottomless mimosas, and a breakfast buffet that includes all the Tex-Mex favorites and chicken and waffles.
Moonshine for Brunch, Lunch or Dinner - Besides being in a beautiful, Southern style home, Moonshine will impress with their popular weekend brunch.
House Wine for Happy Hour - Between their ½ price Sundays, constant stream of live music and proximity to Barton Springs, there is no better way, or Austin way, to get your laid back wine o
Infinite Monkey Theorem for Happy Hour- Another favorite has to be IMT, the urban winery in the middle of Austin. Combine your love of Texas Wine Country with the graffiti nature of downtown and grab your Rose in a can for when you are back by your hotel pool.
Roosevelt’s Room for Cocktail Hour or Night Out - If cocktails are more your thing, make a reservation at the classy and ever so chic Roosevelt Room. They have just the cocktail for any era and the bartenders never fail to recommend a great concoction.
Of course there is tons of shopping between the Domain and SOCO and don’t forget your bathing suit to check out Barton Springs and Deep Eddy. But whatever you end up doing, take pictures, stay safe and have fun!
