At Make The Rest Up we are often inspired by celebrity makeup styles and of course, celebrity good deeds. We couldn't help but highlight Lady Gaga, especially given the intimate and honest look we get to her with her new documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two. While she works to overcome sexism in the music industry and debilitating pain, she manages to continue to inspire her fans, especially those in the LGBTQ community.
With ACL upon Austin, and many other fall festivals, we thought we'd focus on one of her signature looks, with a bold eye and vampy lip.
Why We Chose Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga is one of the most awarded artists to date, with 200 awards and 451 nominations. This #badassbosslady uses her success as a platform to promote peace and unity among our youth. She, along with her mother, created the Born This Way Foundation which aims to stop bullying, cultivate a community of acceptance, and ultimately have a braver, kinder world.
How We Got The Look
Lady Gaga is known for artistically thinking outside the box in every way - including her makeup. To create this edgy look we started with a matte complexion using MAC Prep + Prime Skin and Matchmaster Foundation. After setting with MAC Prep + Prime Loose Finishing Powder, we contoured and highlighted the cheeks with the NYX Contour & Highlight Pro palette. This bold eye was created using highly pigmented Inglot eyeshadows and finished with a layer of glitter. Winged eyeliner was applied using an angled brush and MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack. For a show stopping Lady G lip we used MAC Lip Pencil in Talking Points and Everlasting, our #badassbosslady liquid lipstick in Badass and NYX megashine gloss in nude pink.
